Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for performing general clerical duties within the plant Customer Service/Shipping Department. Also responsible daily data entry, and maintaining accurate records. Responsible for reviewing daily production activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Maintain all shipping records and paperwork.
- Interact daily with Customer Service and Accounting.
- Generate Purchase Order numbers for each requisition.
- Monitor and record receiving information from Production and Shipping.
- Perform clerical responsibilities related to shipping.
- Utilize computer software program performing data entry of inventory, product returns, transfer and incoming raw material generating bills of lading.
- Supply daily pallet tickets ensuring correct freight charges as necessary.
- Ensure seals on bills of lading and load diagrams with driver's signature.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all managers, supervisors, employees, and vendors.
- Work with vendors as necessary on status of back orders.
- Prepare and generate reports (i.e. freight utilitzation), verifying accuracy.
- Assist with monthly inventory.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year clerical experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited institution.
- 2+ years clerical experience within a manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Solid organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Demonstrated sound work ethic, honesty and moral character, with ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent spelling, proof reading and grammatical skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff within an organization.
- Self-motivated, with strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated high level of organization skills; high level of energy and drive

- Resolves routine problems with data discrepancies.
- Understand and interpret data while drawing logical conclusions based on available inputs.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently lifts 20 to 40 lbs.
- Frequently lifts overhead.
- Frequently stoops, kneels and bends.
