The Duty Drawback Analyst position is primarily responsible for identifying drawback opportunities and the development of excellent internal and external relationships and processes that contribute to maximize duty refund benefits for the organization. The right candidate will have strong knowledge and experience with Import/Export operations and documentation, as well as overseeing regulations and tariff changes related to Drawbacks.


Job Description

  • Gather necessary data and reporting required for Drawback provider to start preliminary claim. Including SAP, Alteryx automated reports and Broker Import reporting.
  • Review preliminary claim with Drawback provider to evaluate shipments eligible for drawback refunds, discrepancies, and opportunities to maximize claims.
  • Collaborate with Brokers, Suppliers, Planners, Logistics and Internal Teams, Freight Forwarders, and Drawback provider to ensure timely reconciliation of discrepancies, collection of documentation and timely filing of claim.
  • Stay up to date with import/export regulations, customs laws, and Duty Drawback regulations. Ensure all activities and claims adhere to legal requirements, including maintaining proper record-keeping and documentation, including Central Directive retention policies.
  • Continuously assess and improve Duty Drawback processes, procedures, and systems to streamline operations and increase efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization to enhance accuracy and reduce manual efforts.
  • Collaborate with FTZ Analyst and Administrator to evaluate utilizing new Integration Point FTZ management system to further identify and streamline drawback processes and refund opportunities for claims starting in 2021.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2 years Customs Regulations, Duty Drawback Programs, and Import/Export.
  • Proficient in SAP, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams and MS Office Suite applications.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Alteryx, Power BI, or other automation software.
  • Analytical and Detail Oriented.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
  • Solid understanding of imports/exports required documentation and tariffs.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional/dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
