JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for issuing, storing, and maintaining an inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies for a pork harvest facility serving over 2500 employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Receives, stores, and issues mechanical parts/PPE/supplies according to operational needs
- Assists with monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of supplies
- Ability to interact and maintain a positive rapport with a diverse workforce
- Performs data entry, clerical tasks, and administrative paperwork to ensure the department maintains a high level of accountability for inventory
- Inspects, checks, and verifies incoming supplies are in good condition and meet quality specifications
- Communicates effectively and collaborates with department leadership to ensure the position provides a high level of customer service
- Adheres to all Company food and workplace safety policies to safeguard the workplace and welling being of all employees
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum high school diploma or GED. Some college or vocational courses preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills or similar application and MRP system experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, English required, bi-lingual a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. Consistently working in environment ranging from +35 to -20 degrees. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a level wear OSHA required hearing protection is required.
