Supplier Quality (SQ) Lead

This position reports into the SQ Chemicals team manager, and is based at Skillman, NJ, Fort Washington, PA, or any internal Kenvue Manufacturing site in North America.

What You Will Do   

You will implement our Supplier Quality Management (SQM) strategy, programs, and initiatives while working with suppliers from all over the world to deliver a robust supply of high-quality materials to our manufacturing plants. The SQ Lead collaborates with internal business partners, individuals and teams, and external suppliers to identify and enact novel solutions and continual improvements, bringing value and reliability to the supply chain and our customers. This role's scope includes North America but will also be engaged in projects of multi-region and global scale. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide domain expertise and facilitate selection, onboarding, monitoring, and disengagement of new and existing suppliers and materials, including lifecycle oversight such as: brokering Quality Agreements, Audit Remediation, supplier performance evaluations and monitoring, Change Control and Specification review/approval, and building working relationships with supplier partners
  • Design, implement, and improve quality and compliance programs and initiatives, with regional or global impact
  • Lead and prioritize a highly diverse workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead and support multi-functional projects, such as material selection/onboarding initiatives, Sourcing selection/new supplier qualification projects, material governance, CAPAs, and quality system improvement projects
  • Solve high risk/high complexity quality and compliance issues, using experience, resourcefulness, and creativity to provide solutions to a wide range of root causes
  • Demonstrate initiatives with suppliers to drive remediation of open audit action plans, develop Risk Assessments and mitigation strategies to enable quality performance improvements
  • Work collaboratively with supplier senior leadership to influence quality decisions and drive correction and continuous improvement of the supplier's quality system and reliability of materials
  • Lead supplier or material non-conformance investigations, connecting with supplier to ensure robust supplier investigation and corrective actions, and partner multi-functionally to enable mutually agreeable event resolution

What We Are Looking For  

Required Qualifications

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor's) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a technical function (Quality Assurance, Engineering, R&D) or Supply Chain function (Planning, Sourcing, Operations)
  • Experience with working in a Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or Consumer Health industry, or other highly regulated industries
  • Proficiency with applying Data Management tools and software (e.g., Excel, Minitab, SAP, Trackwise, or related software)
  • Consistent performance history of valuing varied perspectives and collaborating as a team member/lead to improve relationships and interactions, including communicating with management to council, drive/inspire change, and provide direct feedback
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to quality and continual improvement

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven understanding of cGMP/FDA regulations, ICH Q7, IPEC, ISO 13485, or related industry quality systems
  • Experience in application of Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or related methodologies (FMEA, Critical to Quality analysis, Six Sigma tools) to improve process or product reliability
  • Background in the technical, quality, or supply chain aspects of chemical or packaging components manufacturing, specifications, and/or their use in Consumer Health products
  • Work experience in Supplier Management or related roles in which results are achieved through building positive relationships and partnering with external suppliers/customers
  • Experience with quality system inspections or audits and developing actions plans to address deficiencies identified

  • The anticipated base pay range for this role is ($88,000 to $142,600)
