Essential Functions/Duties:
- Fulfill customers Quality deliverables for all project requirements.
- Support new development process and ensures supplier involvement throughout the project stages.
- Implements customer/project requirements with suppliers
- Manage all assigned suppliers in aspects of Quality Project Management for the project team (i.e., kick off meetings, check fixture approvals, dimensional and appearance conformance, Process Capability, APQP, PPAP, Gage RR, Run at rate-line speed demonstrations for the project supply base etc)
- Manage Quality aspect for the Client Run at rate-for line speed (demonstration with Customer)
- Authority to stop a process known to create non-conformances or to hold a document known to be non-conforming.
- Responsibility to work with Project team and Plants to resolve known issues
- Provide quality related project updates and feedback to Management
- Timely escalation of Supplier Quality issues to Project Team and Management
- Responsibility to follow Client Procedures, standards, work instructions, and other directions
- Participates and supports Client Quality system activity as directed.
- Responsibility to respond to internal & external customer requests efficiently, and with enthusiasm, ensuring customer has a high level of confidence when dealing with Client employees, products, and services.
- Perform any company related tasks as assigned by Management.
- Review of check fixture designs and approval for use.
- Review released GD&T and provide feedback to Client RD.
- Review of supplier dimensional data and provide feedback on corrections needed to meet GDT requirements.
- Review and approval of APQP Core Documents; provide feedback and guidance to supplier as needed to ensure documents meet AIAG and OEM customer standards.
- Learn and understand customer portals and be able to monitor changes to customer-specific requirements, to be passed on to suppliers.
- Understand and comply with company EHS policy
- Coordination and support of initial samples/ Initial builds (Modul assembly and single parts)
- Create SOWs for supplied components; support Technical Reviews with suppliers
- Provide temporary deviations to suppliers per Client process to ensure product delivery if supplied component does not meet requirements.
- Supporting actions for continuous improvement
Related Experience/Specialized Knowledge:
- IATF 16949, ISO14000, as required.
- Experience with Stellantis, Tesla, or other North American OEM's is required.
- Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
Professional Training/Technical Training:
- Working Knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standards and VDA a plus but not required.
Additional Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Quality and Purchasing fundamentals, complex modular assemblies and GD&T knowledge.
- Self-motivated team-oriented QE who can work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of data acquisition, and collection systems as well as data analysis and reduction techniques.
- VDA 6.3, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plan.
- Basic Quality assurance principles.
- Ability to read computer generated reports, and engineering change orders.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically (Passport a plus).
- Analytical skills, problem solving skills, Design-of-Experiments, detail-oriented agenda.
- Experience with APIS a plus.
- Minitab/QStat or statistical software a plus.
- Strong knowledge of check fixture design and qualification.
Education:
- A combination of a B.S. Degree (Quality or Engineering degree preferred) + 5 years' experience (or equivalent).
