We are looking to hire a Supplier Diversity Program Manager to join the GM team
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships

  • Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)

  • Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

  • Proven competence in negotiating skills

  • Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

  • The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will work to execute our vision to achieve equitable and sustainable supply chain inclusion goals that ensure long-term viability for our diverse supply base

  • The Supplier Diversity Program Manager must be able to work collaboratively internally and externally with our key stakeholders and have a passion to see diverse suppliers develop and grow

  • Basic competencies for the role include: the ability to navigate matrix relationships, budget management, dealing with ambiguity, organizational agility, and outstanding communication skills

  • Preferred competencies for this role include political savvy, multi-cultural immersion, and strategic agility.

  • This Program Manager shall exemplify key GM behaviors such as One Team, Be Inclusive, Look Ahead and Be Bold

  • Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.

Additional Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Purchasing

  • Ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input and when to act independently

  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and manage through uncertainty

  • Willingness to travel, as necessary (25%) 

  • Cross-functional experience or knowledge 

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Tools, PowerBI, SAP, Ariba

  • Working knowledge of how Supplier Diversity Advocacy Organizations operate and support diverse groups

  • Working knowledge of Supplier Diversity and purchasing and supply chain management strategies/practices/processes

  • Community/civic engagement experience

  • Automotive industry experience

  • Knowledge of procurement software

  • Knowledge of materials management

  • Capable of interpreting market data

  • Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents

  • Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes
