Form of workJob Summary: Serves as Janitor Foreman with responsibility for the efficient cleaning operations of the Navy Lodge facility. Supervises approximately 3-30 janitorial employees in grade NA-1. Duties and Responsibilities: Through subordinate leaders supervises a group of janitors performing cleaning functions in the Navy Lodge units which involve such duties as cleaning rooms including appliances such as refrigerators stoves ovens utensils cabinets and other appliances replacing deodorizes towels soap and tissues making beds changing and washing linens etc. - Makes assignments and reassignments as necessary answers questions of subordinates grants leave and prepares work performance reviews. Makes recommendations regarding adequate staffing for area of responsibility coordinates with supervisor on matters relating to hiring discipline and terminations resolves or makes recommendations for the resolution of problems relating thereto. - Is responsible for the maintenance of adequate supplies and equipment and initiates procurement of supplies in keeping with the Price Agreement Bulletins. Makes daily inspection of units and equipment and ensures all repairs and adjustments are made follows prescribed maintenance program requirements and makes recommendations for timely replacement of equipment. - Insures the principles and policies of NEXCOM s Equal Employment Opportunity Program EEO are carried out in performing personnel administration functions. - Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who provides operational procedures and is available for advice and guidance in connection with operational problems or deviations from established procedures. Incumbent operates independently within the framework of established procedures and instructions and work is reviewed for adherence to instructions and for overall efficiency of operations. - Performs other related duties as assigned
