Overview
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily inbound and outbound processes, scheduling and reporting to logistics leadership and client staff (orders staged, load ready time conformance, customer complaints in full)
Responsibilities
- Report on client provided metrics daily
- Lead daily cadence call with client Transportation and Planning teams and Saddle Creek leadership team
- Work with client transportation team and carriers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups based on OSM (Outbound Shipping Monitor) and ISM (Inbound shipping Monitor).
- Create daily shipping plan
- Schedule appointments with client's customers
- Audit orders prior to shipment
- Assist with handling client complaints and determining root cause
- Monitor available loading equipment and notify planners of shortages
- Site systems lead for system and training (SAP, warehouse management systems, various client driven systems)
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- High School or GED Required
- Bachelor's degree is a plus
- 2+ years transportation experience
- 1-3 years in a leadership role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; possess solid judgment, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, web-based and job specific software applications
- Overcome obstacles; ability to motivate team to meet objectives
- Demonstrated leadership skills to influence department and implement and manage change
- Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals by listening, sharing ideas and appreciating others' efforts
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while focusing on the completion of operational goals
- Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities
- Ability to build a cohesive team that exemplifies SCLS' values and operates to support SCLS' mission statement
