Position Information:
The Supervisor, Patient Financial Services provides general daily management of the Claims and Billing Department. Develops processes and procedures that will monitor billing outcomes. Oversees the posting of patient and insurance payments. Oversees the process of charges coming into the Claims and Billing Department. Oversees the accuracy of keying those charges into the Practice Management System. Responsible for serving as a connection between the Department and other departments within CS-HHC. Responsible for analyzing rejections, and denials for payment. Implements strategies to eliminate errors and reduce the rejection rate. Updates and develops policies and procedures based on billing needs and requirements as necessary. Works with other WAKEMED departments and staff on a daily basis to troubleshoot and resolve day to day operational issues relating to billing and the processing of claims. Oversees the addition of insurances into the Practice Management System. Allows the access for WAKEMED departments to be able to work in the insurance carrier?s websites for eligibility. Reviews accounts and maintains a system for monthly bad debt write-off. Assists with answering telephones and provide information as requested. Approve time sheets and time off. Ability to handle all tasks and projects given and directed by the Patient Account Director. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
2 Years Accounting/Finance - Billing And Accounting/Finance - Third Party Payors And 1 Year Supervisory Required - Or 4 Years Accounting/Finance - Billing And Accounting/Finance - Third Party Payors Required In Lieu of Degree
Education Required:
Associate's Degree Accounting Or Business Or Related Field Preferred
