We currently have an opening for Supervisor, Desktop Infrastructure & Services. This position will ensure effective and efficient delivery, maintenance and support of the enterprise computing environment. Working with the Dir., Infrastructure & Operations in the development of business and technology standards and best practices for the department and cross-technical teams throughout the business. Working with the Dir., Infrastructure & Operations to ensure all enterprise computing operations, including the integration of new technologies and remote capabilities are available and appropriately configured and patched for all employees. Oversees the development of procedures and processes for enterprise systems operations. Responsible for ensuring the enterprise has the capability to support new technologies and maintain high levels of systems performance and reliability. Assist in the development of plans, and budgets for all assets in area of responsibility.

Major Responsibilities:
NOTE: The following are major responsibilities of this position. - Ensure Service Desk is effectively maintained; ensure reported issues are properly resolved and documented.
- Monitor desktops, laptops and other employee computing devices for current service packs or version changes.
- Research future technology needs for the company, making recommendations as needed
- Research future hardware/software needs, making recommendations as needed.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process for software and services.
- Assist in the procurement of software and service solutions.
- Manage subordinate staff employment activities (hiring, promotion, discipline, training and termination.)
- Appropriately document actions in employment issues.
- Facilitate subordinate staff growth though coaching and positive reinforcement.
- Analyze and manage workload and schedules.
- Monitor performance and conduct performance planning and review sessions.
- Ensure fair and consistent treatment of department employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or vocational/technical school diploma in technical computer field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum seven (7) years’ experience delivering, maintaining and supporting an enterprise computing environment which includes, but not limited to:
- Facilitate discussions regarding pricing, SOW’s including contractual terms for enterprise applications and services
- Data transmission concepts, including fiber optics and Ethernet protocols
- Design, implementation and maintenance of VMWare or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization framework, Enterprise Class Storage Systems, Enterprise Class Backup & Archival Systems, Enterprise Active Directory Systems, and Windows & Linux Server Farms
- Establishment and maintenance of inter-company relationships
- Negotiate pricing, SOW’s along with contractual terms for technology related products and services
- Facilitate design sessions with internal peers/colleagues and vendors for hardware/software solutions
- Installation, maintenance and repair of, desktop, laptop, tablet and/or server hardware/software solutions
SKILLS:
Previous experience with installation, maintenance, administration and support of various types of Desktop/Laptop, Tablet, Server and Appliance hardware and related operating systems and associated software.
Proven ability to plan and coordinate activities among direct reports, peers, colleagues and vendors.
Proven ability to manage an enterprise service desk, identifying and reporting on key performance metrics
Proficient in using software utilities to analyze and resolve software, desktop/laptop, server, storage and network problems.
Proven ability to create, support, present and track financial/return on investment analysis for technology solutions.
Demonstrated ability to identify and remediate network, storage, server or backup/recovery inefficiencies that could compromise the company’s business continuity objectives.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, isolate, document, and resolve problems and to sufficiently articulate the problems and solutions to varied technically knowledgeable audiences.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate design and troubleshooting sessions with peers, colleagues and vendors
Knowledgeable of basic project management concepts with a history of putting those concepts into practice
Demonstrated ability to apply hardware or software solution design concepts
Proven oral and written communication, planning, and decision-making skills; effective interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED:
Previous utility industry experience.
Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills.
Certifications – Azure, MSCP, Office365
