The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The starting salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Pay Grade: AL
Perform custodial and Grounds work. Maintain entryways and Grounds including but not limited to snow removal, mowing, planting, fertilizing and aeration. Maintain campus vehicles.
Order and maintain an inventory of maintenance, custodial, grounds, and building supplies from the Ankeny warehouse or outside vendors. Assist in preparation and implementation of budget. Occasionally prepare estimates, receive bids, and approve payment to contractors for repairs, equipment, etc.
Four years of custodial and/or building maintenance experience two of which must be as a supervisor or lead-worker.
Valid Iowa Driver’s license or ability to obtain, with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to properly operate a variety of hand tools and power equipment.
Ability to perform physical tasks involving: frequent moving of up to 75 lbs.; frequent bending, reaching, pushing and walking; and occasional climbing of ladders.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications.
