Supervisor, Banquets

Execute and supervise some of the best events in Kansas City at our Harrah's Kansas City convention space. From a small breakfast, a wedding, a marketing event or a large trade show, this position comes with a great variety. Starting pay will fall between $40-45K and your schedule will vary based on time and dates of events. In this role you will be hands on during the event to help provide service to our clients. Hotel, convention, hospitality or restaurant leadership experience preferred.

Job Description:

Administers the overall daily activities of the Banquet operation following the Banquet Event Order instructions. Counsels, guides and instructs Caesars personnel and temporary team members in the proper performance of their duties. Assists in maintaining appropriate par levels of equipment and linen. Oversee cash handling procedures on banquet bars. Direct staff on shift and ensures proper staffing levels in order to provide high standards of service. Ensures that available facilities are adequate for performance of duties by assigned personnel. Maintains and instructs assigned personnel on safety policies and procedures and follows up to ensure that hazards are eliminated. Monitors appearance of food served and communicates deviations from standard. Ensures that all banquet billing is done accurately and in a timely manner. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's.

Knowledge, Skills & Education Preferred :

Some college. Excellent customer service skills. Strong communication skills. Two years experience in restaurant industry in a supervisory role preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality.
• Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry above/below the shoulders a minimum of 25 lbs or more.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time or entire shift.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
• Is able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and responds to visual and aural cues.
• Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping strongly required.
• Must have the dexterity to grip and work necessary items (chips, 10 key adding machine, money bags, computers, money, etc.).

Licensing and Certification Required :

Employees may be required to obtain a Missouri Gaming Commission license. The initial license is paid for by the employee through payroll deduction. All subsequent renewals for the license are paid by Harrah's North Kansas City.
