The Robinson Mine is a wholly owned operation located approximately 13 kilometers west of Ely, in the semi-arid climate of White Pine County, Nevada. The site can be accessed via a public paved road that connects to US Highway 50, west of Ely, Nevada. Copper-gold concentrates produced at Robinson are transported by truck from the mine site to East Wendover, Utah, where rail trans-loading is undertaken. The concentrate is then railed to port facilities for sea transport. The mine employs approximately 600 people.
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
As a key member of Robinson's Environmental Resources Department, the Superintended of Environmental Resources (Permitting) is responsible for the development and implementation of Environmental permitting strategies. Applicable applications and required reports, including regulatory correspondence will be developed with a focus on achieving operational schedules and requirements needed to support the ongoing success of the Robinson Mine.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
• Review, refine, and implement environmental programs that are consistent with corporate policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement environmental permitting strategies to meet future operational requirements and schedules including development of permit applications, required reports, and regulatory correspondence. Of which include the following:
  • Permitting Projects- Present and future-Minor or Major Modification to WPCP
  • Reclamation Plans-TPPC and FPPC including the use of SRCE
  • Yearly RCE to support the Mine Plan
  • Support Environmental Manager with his Role and Responsibilities
  • Development of WPCP EDCs and/or non-fee reviews
  • Project management and oversight

• Work with regulators from applicable bureaus with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP), Bureau of Land Management, Nevada Department of Wildlife and coordinate activities of Environmental contractors and consultants in a cost-effective manner to meet permitting and/or compliance schedules.
• Represent company positions and interests in agency inspections, technical meetings, and with special interest groups.
• Interface directly with local commissions when needed to provide applicable updates and/or requested information.
• Mentor and develop site Environmental Resources staff and provide environmental awareness training to mine operations.
• Provide new ideas to comply with Environmental issues, policies, and financial alternatives to build a safer workplace, promote teamwork within the department and foster a collaborative work environment at the site.
• Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position is required as well as expertise in Microsoft office.
• Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to regulatory agencies, local government agencies and special interest groups.
• A valid Driver's License is required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasionally for training and development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mentor and develop site Environmental Resources staff and provide environmental awareness training to mine operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Light: Exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 15 lbs. of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. Even when weight lifted is negligible, a job is rated light when: 1) it involves walking or standing to a significant degree: 2) it requires sitting most of the time but involves pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls: 3) it involves working at a production rate that requires constant pushing or pulling of materials.
