SUNBURST PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
SUNBURST is an opportunity for Nauset’s 4th-6th Graders to engage in hands-on, real-world, application-based learning during the summer at Nauset Regional Middle School. Students from Eddy Elementary School, Orleans Elementary School, Eastham Elementary School, Wellfleet Elementary School, and Nauset Regional Middle School are eligible to participate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Sunburst Program Director is responsible for the effective implementation of Nauset’s high-quality Sunburst Summer Programming per the SALT/ASOST grant. The Sunburst Director works to deepen relationships with staff, students, families, and the greater community to provide experiences for deep learning. This includes developing creative and innovative programming that helps students develop and demonstrate new skills.
Eligible candidates must be motivated, creative adults who enjoy working on a team and with students. Preferred qualifications:
? BA/BS degree or higher from an accredited college or university or equivalent working experience;
? Minimum 5 years’ experience as classroom teacher
? Experience designing and delivering high quality after school and/or Summer Programs;
? Experience with community outreach, multi-tiered system of supports, and deep learning practices;
? Experience collaborating with and coaching teachers to improve pedagogical practice and improve learning outcomes;
? Experience with supervision of staff and students as well as with program registration and managing employee timesheets;
? Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships;
? Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
SALARY:
Individual Contract- Position is completely grant-funded (SALT/ASOST Grants)
10-15 hours per week from February to May with an increase to approximately 20-25 hours per week up to the start of the program in early July.
Summer schedule: Monday- Thursday, 7am-1pm
