Sun Delivery is accepting applications for Local, LineHaul and In-Home Delivery Drivers.
We offer competitive pay, safe driving bonuses and benefits after 90 days. Drivers must have a Class A or B CDL or have a class C and are willing to get their Class B license.
Position Responsibilities
- Make deliveries and pick-ups of home furnishing in a timely manner.
- Physically unload and set-up merchandise for in-home deliveries.(In-Home Drivers)
- Demonstrate excellent customer service by conducting daily activities, communications and interactions in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner.
- Complete both the pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection.
- Secure freight on truck/trailer at each facility.
- Participate in safety programs.
- Comply with all DOT and FMCSR regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of both the tractor and trailer during and after completion of each route.
- Part of a two person delivery team.
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- Must be able and willing to work weekends
- Communicate, read, understand, and write as required to perform essential functions.
- Load/unload in extreme winter and summer temperatures and conditions.
- Class A, B, or C license and valid medical certification.
- Pass company drug and alcohol screening.
- Present neat, clean appearance of self and equipment and proper business etiquette.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have 2 years of experience driving CDL.
- Must have experience moving large box trucks or tractor trailers within a confined area.
- Must have skills in furniture assembly and light touch up repair.
- Pull, twist, bend, lift, slide, push, pull, or relocate a piece using a hand truck or have assistance as part of the loading and unloading process.
- Sit up to ten hours per day.
- Must be in reasonable health and able to stand, squat, turn, bend and twist in the freight and unloading process.
- Must have adequate eyesight to be able to detect hairline cracks, splits, checks, warp, surface scratches, stain mismatch and other routine defects customarily found in furniture.
