Job Title: Summer STEM Educator
Reports to: Director of Education
Hours: Range from 15-40 hours/week. Flexibility for weeks off. Core hours occur Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Status: Non-exempt, hourly. Temporary. Summer camp season begins June 10 and runs through August 30.
Pay: $16.50-$18.50/hour based on experience

Our STEM Educator team is dedicated to:
Making engineering inspiring, relevant and accessible to children.
Creating an environment that welcomes every child, parent, and teacher.
Facilitating open-ended problem solving and experiential learning.
We are looking for people who share our passion for science, technology, and engineering. Summer STEM educators teach our day camps and workshops to children ages 4-12. Most programs take place at the Museum, although we also have outreach programs. Our summer programs take place June 10 through August 30. We ask that you commit to working at least six weeks, all summer, or anything in between. Positions available working 15-20 or 30-40 hours per week. Core hours occur Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Elementary Education or Secondary STEM Education.
At least 1 year of experience working with elementary-age children, in an informal or formal setting: schools, early childhood centers, after-school programs, summer camps, museums, etc.
Interest and/or background in a STEM field.
Experience working with diverse communities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
