ABOUT PROGRAM:
We are seeking enthusiastic applicants for our Summer STEM Day Camp! All Majors are encouraged to apply! In Rochester, our camps are located at Hover Elementary School.
Tech Academy teaches week-long technology classes. We offer Coding, Minecraft, Movie Making, 3D Printing, Video Game Design, Lego, and Robotics classes for students ages 6-14.
This is a summer-only position, and we are only looking for local candidates. In Rochester, we run weekly classes from June 12 to August 10. Classes typically run Monday-Thursday, some classes run in only the morning or just the afternoon, and sometimes both.
Training and Equipment:
Before teaching or assisting, teachers complete 12 hours of online training on essential camp management and leadership skills and then complete one virtual employee orientation, and one in person training in Roseville, MN (Twin Cities area). We provided all the equipment and curriculum needed to teach classes.
Pay:
Teachers: $16-$30 an hour
Assistants $14-$20 an hour
Prep and training: $11 an hour
Requirements:

• College Student/Graduate for Teaching Positions
• 16 and Over for Assistant Positions
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Experience with Elementary age children
• You will be required to complete a local and national background check
• Be very comfortable with technology and using computers
• You must be very punctual and reliable.
• You need to be able to work independently and communicate via email and phone with us regularly
• Patient, positive personality

If applying as a teacher:Be organized and efficient to run an effective class

• You must be self-confident, energetic, creative, and assertive enough to control a class of high energy elementary-age kids
• Student range from K-8th grades.

Plusses:

• Knowledge of Legos, Minecraft, Programming, or Robotics experience
• Background in tutoring/coaching kids

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship
Salary: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
