The Graphic Artist position resides in the Learning and Development department at CableLabs/SCTE. This department creates training materials for professionals in the field of telecommunications. Our team plays a crucial role in providing an engaging and interactive experience for learners that enroll in SCTE courses. Part of the experience includes web- and mobile-based games, and we are looking for a talented Graphic Artist to help us take our games to the next level.
Why This Internship Is Exciting
You will contribute to the development and production of a new series of games that SCTE is providing to enhance our learners' training experience.
What You’ll Do
- Work with the subject matter experts to design and develop high-performance games that engage learners
- Create graphic imagery and animations with close attention to detail and clean design
- Be an active part of the creative process – pitch ideas, give feedback, etc.
- Ensure thorough quality testing and documentation before deployment into production
What Is a Must Have
- Currently enrolled in a degree program related to graphic design, animation, or game design.
- Must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours, including coursework in graphics, illustration, and/or software design.
- Ability to create graphic assets for web-based mobile-ready games
- Comprehensive knowledge of either (or both):
- 2D - Adobe Creative Cloud Suite – particularly Illustrator, but knowledge of Photoshop, Animate, and/or AfterEffects is a plus
- 3D - Blender, Adobe Substance Painter
- Experience with motion graphics and/or character animation
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Organizational and time management skills are needed
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience with web-publishable game engines (e.g., Unity 3D, Phaser)
- Knowledge of GitHub
