The Talbots corporate retail-focused internship program is designed to give rising juniors and seniors an opportunity to gain hands-on insight and knowledge within a specialty retail company. Students will be immersed in all things retail for approximately 12 weeks. You can expect a store visit, executive talks, professional development, a mentor and an opportunity to see a 360-degree view of the business in this timeframe. Students should expect that their experience may be a blend of onsite and virtual at times. Our goal is to provide top-performing interns with either an offer to return the following summer or an offer for full-time employment post-graduation.
The Marketing intern will work directly with the Marketing team to help with campaign planning, influencer marketing, analyses, reports and social media marketing.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the Brand Marketing Manager in the development of marketing strategies for customer-facing programs and projects that support brand objectives
- Assist the Social Media Manager with competitive research and content ideation for our social channels
- Learn how to perform in-depth competitive analyses to support marketing recommendations for brand initiatives
- Attend internal Marketing team and cross-functional team meetings to experience and participate in the full lifecycle of a marketing campaign from conceptualization to content creation to execution
- Compile research around industry trends relating to fashion/retail, marketing, social media and philanthropy
Who You Are
- Authentic, curious and passionate – with a sense of humor!
- Enrolled in an accredited degree program
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A strong communicator (both verbal and written communication)
- Detail-oriented and entrepreneurial
- Able to think strategically, conceptually and creatively
- Interested in fashion, retail, and/or marketing
