Major Functions
The County of Volusia is seeking a Summer Food Service Program Site Supervisor for the Community Assistance Division. This position will be located at various locations throughout Volusia County, and will be responsible for ordering, receiving, and distributing meals, as well as, completing required documents. Candidate must be able to provide great customer service and work well with children.
This position is located within the Division of Community Assistance and will be affiliated with the Summer Food Program. This position will tentatively start June 3, 2024 through August 9, 2024.
**NOTE: This position is posted on a continuous basis and may close without notice.
- Work hours are: Monday-Friday, four (4) hours a day.
- Must pass Level II criminal background screening and drug screen.
Illustrative Duties

- Orders, receives, and distributes meals based upon program guidelines.
- Completes required documents daily for compliance.
- Performs related work as required.
- Communicates daily with office staff.
- Provide great customer service to internal and external customers.
- Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Must adhere to Federal, State, County and Local ordinances.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.
Must be able to work daily and hours noted.
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age on or before June 3, 2024.
Note: A social security card is required for payroll purposes.
Must pass required background check (fingerprinting and drug screen).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Communicate effectively with the public.
- Maintain meals in accordance with County and State regulations.
- Ability to maintain site information accurately and correctly for compliance.
- Ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to read and comprehend oral and written instructions.
- Ability to complete assignment within the project time period.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Ability to interact effectively with others.
- Must be able to relocate to other county locations based on operational needs.

Physical Demands: Use of fingers, hands, good vision, depth perception, hearing, holding, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, turning, balancing, and stooping. Frequent lifting and reaching above shoulder.
Environmental Demands: Inside and outside work. Exposure to inclement weather (heat, humidity, salt, air, rain) and/or dust.
Mental Demands: Able to read and comprehend instructions, letters, memos, and operation guides. Able to write simple sentences relating information, evaluations, and critiques. Able
to perform basic mathematical functions. Able to speak clearly and concisely; able to relay information to others.
