Remote (40)Part timePosted 19 Days AgoJR41Position Summary The Campus Program Communications Intern will be responsible for contributing to the communications and engagement efforts of the Audubon on Campus program of the National Audubon Society. The Campus Program Communications Intern will work with team members to help develop content for digital communication channels, including Audubon on Campus program web pages and social media sites, including Instagram and Facebook. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and creative digital storyteller with experience in producing digital communications. This position will report to the Campus Program Manager and will help build awareness of the Audubon on Campus program and campus chapters through a variety of methods to help further Audubon’s mission and goals. The position will be remote, and I will work closely with the Network team. This position is 31.25 hours per week for 12 weeks, with target dates of June 5 to August 26; start and end dates are flexible. Hours worked and deadlines will be flexible during academic examination periods.Compensation:• $17.00/hour = National• $18.00/hour = Alaska, CA (not San Francisco), Connecticut, D.C., Chicago, Oyster Bay, NY• $19.00/hour = NYC (not Oyster Bay), San Francisco, Seattle Essential Functions • Work with the Campus Program Manager, in collaboration with the social media team, to implement communications tactics that will broaden the Campus Program’s visibility and reach and deepen the impact of our work.• Launch and grow an Instagram account for the Audubon on Campus program.• Assist in the development of content calendars for communications and social media.• Support the production of newsletters, campus leader emails, flyers, webinars, and other promotional materials.• Track daily and monthly metrics and analytics for digital communications and prepare reports for key stakeholders.• Assist in the development of content on the website and blog, working with staff to design, create, edit, and regularly update content.• Develop, and publish content for Audubon on Campus Instagram account.• Assist with the development of advocacy-driven communications and events.• Acquired photo and video assets from campus chapters• Create a database that contains the socials from every campus chapter• Ensure Audubon’s strategic imperative of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging is included in messaging.• Other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience • Currently enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college or university with at least 3 courses completed in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field and 0-2 years of professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Excellent attention to detail and strong editing skills.• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with PhotoShop and Canva a plus.• Proficiency with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.• Strong demonstrated interest in wildlife conservation and the mission of the National Audubon Society.• A self-starter with a proactive approach to assignments, one with the ability to work independently and as part of a team and prioritize tasks.• Interest in elevating voices, ideas, needs, and concerns of communities of color and other people historically marginalized in America and the conservation movement a plus.• A flexible approach to work, with a willingness and ability to travel occasionally to visit campus chapters in the United States, as needed, and participate in programs occurring after typical business hours.EEO StatementThe National Audubon Society is a federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
