Job Description
HCC is seeking qualified Middle/High School instructors for our Summer Youth Camps. Camp season begins on June 24, 2024 and continues through August 16, 2024. (Camps will not be held the week of July 1st)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and implementing camp curriculum; coordinating daily operations and safety procedures of camp; maintaining supply inventory; communicating effectively with campers, camp staff and parents/guardians; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Available Camp Weeks:
Week 1: Minecraft - full day (ages 8-12) - June 24-28
Week 2: Beginning Band - full day (ages 9-13) - July 8-12
Week 2: WHFC Radio Learning Lab - half day (ages 11-17) - July 8-12
Week 3: Roblox - full day (ages 8-12) - July 15-19
Week 3: Intermediate Band - full day (ages 14-17) - July 15-19
Week 3: Creative Writing - half day (ages 11-17) - July 15-19
Week 3: Summer Beat Makers - full day (ages 13-17) - July 15-19
Week 4: Minecraft - full day (ages 8-12) - July 22-26
Week 4: Writers of the Lost Arts - half day (ages11-17) - July 22-26
Week 4: Flute Intensive - full day (ages 12-17) - July 22-26
Week 5: Art for Others - half day (ages 11-17) - July 29-August 2
Week 5: Solo Act Vocal Intensive - full day (ages 13-17) - July 29-August 2
Week 6: Uke & Sing Summer Ukulele Jam - full day (ages 12-17) - August 5-9
Week 7: Intermediate Jazz - full day (ages 12-16) - August 12-16
Week 7: Clarinet Intensive - full day (ages 7-11) - August 12-16
Instructors are required to attend employee training, to be scheduled the week of June 10, 2024. Instructors are not required to be available for all camp weeks.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or certification in the appropriate field.
Required Experience
One year of teaching, childcare, camp, or coaching experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to successfully pass an FBI, MD, and CJIS background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of Summer Camp experience.
General Weekly Work Schedule
Half-day camp operating hours are 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Full-day camp operating hours are 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, one-hour duty free lunch break.
