Brentwood Country Club of Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic kids Camp Counselor for seasonal employment for the summer of 2024. The candidate must have experience teaching and/or supervising children. Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise children and lead pre-planned activities throughout Summer Camp
This team member should always conduct themselves in a professional manner while representing the club. The ideal candidate will possess:

- Greet children and parents when they arrive for check-in and check-out
- Setup camp spaces at the beginning of day and cleanup at end of the day
- Facilitate lunch and snack orders with the kitchen
- Play games, do exercises, and assist the children in carrying out the pre-planned crafts
- Supervise campers during free swim as well as enforce general safety in pool area
- Attend to individual needs of children (i.e., bathroom use for potty trained children, changing of clothes, injuries)
- Assist with activities provided by vendors/contractors
- Notify supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur. Rectify, practicing service recover, any complaints as soon as possible
- Be available on some night and weekend shifts throughout the summer
- Other duties directly related to the camp as assigned by the Camp Supervisor
- Other duties within the Recreation Department as assigned by the Director
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to follow directions, communicate effectively with co-workers and be open to constructive feedback
- Must be able to interact effectively with co-workers, children and parents for the overall success of the program and the club
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Must be able to lead a group of children ages 4 and up with the balance of patience, firm boundaries and enthusiasm as well as apply appropriate behavior management techniques
- Must be able to enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures
- A friendly team player who enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities is an ideal candidate
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills
- Must be punctual
- Special skills such as being proficient and able to teach a particular sport and/or ability to play and share a musical instrument an/or skill with specific crafts will be advantageous
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- Servsafe certification required (must be completed before camp begins)
- Previous experience as a camper or Camp Counselor desirable
- Previous experience working with children is required
- First Aid, AED, CPR certified (must be completed before camp begins)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Occasionally bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling and reaching above the shoulder
- Some light lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling of objects
- Exposure to sun and other outdoor elements
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
