Shifts & Schedule: 7-25 hours weekly (hours may be filled by multiple teachers)
July 1-Aug. 30
(schedule will be agreed upon based on availability & program)
- Wed-Thurs: 7/10-8/29, 2-5:30pm
- Mon-Thurs: 8/26-29, 9:30am-1:30pm
- Fridays: 7/12-7/26 & 8/9-8/23, anytime between 1-8:30pm
- Sat and/or Sun (flexible): anytime between 10-8:30pm
- Early April & Mid-June: Planning Session & Supply Order/Prep (via email, zoom, or IRL)
Licenses: Teaching Certification preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Collaborative planning of art lessons that align with studio mission
- Prep/Set-Up, Clean-up and successful implementation of approved lessons that teach students various art techniques and mediums, such as drawing, painting, and sculpture
- Foster creativity and self-expression in students through art lessons
- Provide guidance and feedback to children to help them improve their artistic skills and creativity
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves through art
- Manage art supplies and maintain a clean and organized art studio
- Organize and display student artwork for exhibitions or showcases
- Greeting/dismissing students properly & communicating to parents/caregivers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field preferred
- Valid teaching certification or license in Art Education preferred
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and styles
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of different ages and skill levels
- Experience in classroom management and creating a positive learning environment for all learners
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and how they relate to art education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for providing feedback to students and communicating with parents/guardians

- Proven experience working with children of various skill levels
- Strong artistic and creative skills
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal abilities
- Patience and understanding of child development
- Ability to plan and execute age-appropriate art activities
- Passion for fostering a love of art in young minds
