Job Overview

Summer 2023 Co-Op Mechanical Test and Reliability Engineer

 

As a Summer 2023 Co-Op Mechanical Test and Reliability Engineer in Burlington, MA at Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), is responsible for working with the Sr Reliability Engineer to support reliability predictions and assessments of systems, sub-systems, and components of KDP appliances.

*Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including CPT/OPT.

Shift/Schedule:

  • The KDP 2023 Summer Co-Op Program will run from 06/26/23 -12/08/23
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00am until 5:00pm
  • Hybrid

Compensation:

  • $27 / hour
  • Paid bi-weekly

As a Reliability Engineer Co-Op you will:

  • Support Reliability and Design Validation Testing
    • Component Reliability Test Stand operation, data collection and troubleshooting
    • Reliability critical component testing in house and at CMs/Suppliers
    • DVP test hands on support as needed in Burlington
    • DVP test coordination and communication for testing done at the ADC
  • Conduct data analysis on test results to support New Product Introduction milestone event
    • Use JMP, ReliaSoft, Excel, or other program to analyze data and ensure it is presented in an effective manner
    • Create DVP test reports as required
    • Construct Component and System Level Reliability Models as required
  • Support Advanced Development projects from their inception
    • Support DFMEA, DVP, and Reliability Assessment creation
    • Conduct comparative reliability tests on competitive brewers to support the Reliability Attribute
  • Identify gaps or potential improvements to current test methods
    • Implement continuous improvements to test methods
    • Create new test methods as needed
  • Other responsibilities as needed to support the Reliability and Test Engineering Team operations

Projects:

  • Project(s) will depend on NPI and AD roadmap at the time of Co-op
  • Co-op will be included on whatever project is planned to complete before end of Co-op cycle
    • Latest AFH, Connected AH, Unconnected AH, or AD Project
    • CRTS life test to failure of new reliability critical components

Major Deliverables:

Presentation that summarizes the following accomplishments:

  • DVP Testing completed
    • Summary of reports/conclusions/findings
  • Reliability Testing completed
    • Summary of reports/conclusions/findings
  • NPI/AD deliverables supported/completed
  • Test Method improvements/creation

Elements of the KDP Intern/Co-Op Program include:

  • Engaging and partnering on innovative projects to gain experience in a challenging, cross functional team environment
  • Participate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leaders
  • Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting
  • Be paired with a mentor to enhance your knowledge of other parts of the business and build your network
  • Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department vice president and other KDP stakeholders

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in engineering, Mechanical or similar
  • Passion for consumer products
  • Basic understanding of risk assessment tools
  •  Available to work 40 hours per week (M-F, 8am-5pm)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including excellent listening, written, and verbal abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, be independently driven, and a self-starter
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Nice to Haves:

  • Hands on experience with building or troubleshooting electro-mechanical test fixtures
  • Experience with manual and automated data collection and analysis
  • Familiarity with DFMEA process
  • Experience with Root Cause/Failure Analysis
  • Experience creating or modifying test methods
  • Experience with the following programs: JMP, ReliaSoft, LabView JIRA, Confluence
  • Basic understanding of Reliability Engineering and predictive modeling
