Lakeside Upper School is an independent 9-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle and is currently hiring substitute teachers to teach in-person classes in all subject areas. Interested applicants should clearly indicate which subjects they are most qualified to teach and if they are willing to teach outside of their primary subject area.

Lakeside School is committed to taking the steps necessary to provide a safe environment for students, employees and visitors to our campus. Substitutes invited to interview in-person will be required to provide proof of vaccination and booster to human resources prior to arriving on campus. Invited substitutes requesting a medical and/or religious exemption should reach out to Human Resources.
Responsibilities
Substitute teachers are used to cover classes on an As Needed basis. Class syllabus and teaching materials will be created and support from the department will be provided As Needed.
- Classroom instruction.
- Experience teaching high school students.
- Adhere to the teacher's lesson plans.
- Ensure the safety of students while in the classroom.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience teaching middle school level students.
- Computer literate on a PC platform.
- Experience teaching in a hybrid or online environment is preferred.
- Candidates must satisfactorily complete at least two comprehensive background checks.
- Upper School single class (up to 4 classes in one day): $65
- Middle School single class (up to 4 classes in one day): $46
- MS/US Additional class (5th+ in one day): $25
- Library/Service Learning (per day): $150
- Study hall (per hour): $23
- Long-term full-time assignments (15 days to 6 weeks) (per day in the same assignment, retroactive to the first day): $195 per day
Lakeside School continually recruits for qualified teachers to be placed on substitute rosters throughout the school. Postings will remain open indefinitely.
