The Help Group is seeking a qualified On-Call Teachers and Teacher's Aide Substitutes to join our dynamic team! This is an ideal position for individuals with passion for helping students from the age of 3 to 22 years old with special needs reach their fullest potential.
The Ideal Candidate for On Call TA will demonstrate the ability to assist the teacher with all aspects of classroom instruction and behavior management, utilizing a positive, strengths-based approach.
The Ideal Candidate for On Call Teacher will have a Bachelor's degree and at minimum a 30 day sub permit in the state of California and experience teaching students with autism and/or learning disabilities is preferred.
On the Sherman Oaks Campus we have five schools dedicated to helping these students lead a positive, productive, and rewarding life:
- Bridgeport School provides basic skills education, community-based instruction, and vocational training, for students with mild to moderate cognitive delays and challenges with social communication and or language development.
- Bridgeport Vocational Education Center is for young adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental differences, ages 18 to 22, providing vocational skills training, including supported job placements.
- Sunrise School is dedicated to promoting communicative, behavioral, social, academic, motor, adaptive and independent living skills.
- Village Glen School is a college preparatory program that serves students with high-functioning autism and challenges in the areas of socialization, language development and peer relations.
- Young Learners Preschool uses an evidence-based and interdisciplinary approach to intensive early intervention for children ages 2.9 to 5 with autism spectrum disorder.
**** On-Call Options: Based off your availability, but must be able to work full school days (8:30am-3:30pm)
In addition, we currently have both full-time and part-time positions. There are positions opened at our other campuses, Van Nuys, Valley Glen, and Culver City.

EXCITING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct individual & small group lessons as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Implement behavior plans and manage student behavior utilizing positive, strength-based strategies.
- Apply appropriate crisis intervention protocols in accordance with Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (CPI) and school/agency policies to ensure student safety;
- Assist with paperwork and record keeping as needed.
- Accompany students on school transportation (taxi/bus) during morning and afternoon routes.
Salary Rate: $ 17.50 - $25.04/hour
