Qualifications: Valid Washington State teaching certificate appropriate for the assignmentBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning; Master's degree preferredSuccessful teaching experience across all grade levels, preferredSuccessful experience teaching across diverse populations, preferredWillingness and desire to assist a teaching team in implementing an interdisciplinary instructional programFamiliarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learningComfortable working in a collaborative environment in a program focused on improving student learningWillingness and desire to collaborate with assigned Professional Learning Community, if requestedCooperates as a professional team member, represents the best interests of the school, and accepts faculty responsibilities if requestedSets an example for students in emotional stability, self-control, courtesy, and appearanceAbility to work in a semi-open or self-contained classroomKnowledge of, or experience with, a variety of teaching strategies, i.e. cooperative learning, integrated curriculum, whole language, etc.Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skillsAbility to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverseAdvanced ability to use technology as an effective communication, planning, and instructional toolWillingness to participate in professional development courses aligned with the school and district initiatives, if requested Essential Functions: Teaches assigned content with a high degree of skill which may include an assignment to a combination grade-level classroomTeaches in an instructional program that meets the students' individual needs at their individual instructional level and makes modifications when necessaryIntegrates technology into learningWorks as an enthusiastic part of a learning-centered environment believing that each student can learnAbility to work with an educational team including directing the work of paraeducatorsUses the Professional Learning Community process to improve instruction, learning, and assessment, if requestedMaintains effective, positive classroom managementProvides a safe environment and handles discipline in a positive mannerActively engage students in using technology in individual and collaborative learning activitiesWorks in a flexible and cooperative mannerTreats co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all timesServes as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our studentsMaintains regular and punctual attendance and hours of operation as set by the assigned building/location to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirementsSupervision of studentsOther duties as assigned SOC Code: 253031 Benefits/Compensation: Regular Rate: $27.00 (hourly), Enhanced Rate: $29.85 (hourly) (Must work 25 full days in a semester and will receive the enhanced rate the following semester).Benefits: Employees who are anticipated to work at least 630 hours may be eligible for health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life, and disability insurance benefits.
