POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensures basic maintenance of SCHOOL BUSes and maintains quality control.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid CDL with Class B and air brake endorsement.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Some mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to perform manual labor.
- Must be able to pass a random drug test.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
- Must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position. When appropriate, reasonable accommodations will be provided to afford persons with disabilities an opportunity to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Must be able to provide a criminal background check with results that adhere to Bulloch County Board of Education Policy GAK(1).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical experience in SCHOOL BUSes and heavy trucks.
- Certifications relevant to the role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lubricates, inspects and changes filters as needed in SCHOOL BUSes and white fleet.
- Visually inspects vehicles for minor repairs in accordance to state inspection sheet and reports to supervisor.
- Fuel vehicles and check fluids. Replenish as needed.
- Cleans and organizes shop.
- Completes work orders and returns to supervisor.
- Makes small repairs to vehicle, if needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Process appropriate paperwork to authorize absences in accordance with school system procedures. Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate manner and to be conscientious about work performance.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually designated supervisor in accordance with Policy GBI - Evaluation of Personnel.
