Northstar Substitute Teacher- Charter Schools Atlanta

Northstar Educational Consulting group is seeking to build a talented pool of individuals interested in substituting on a short and/or long term basis. The ideal candidates are looking for flexible opportunities to make a difference.

Essential Functions

The role of the Substitute Teacher is to deliver high quality lessons to meet the individual needs of all students using a wide range of strategies. Provide a safe classroom learning environment, in keeping with the mission and vision of the school and school leadership team.

The preferred candidates will be able to:

• respond to morning requests from school
• pass a criminal background check
• work flexible schedules
• communicate effectively
• accept an assignment at least 1 day per week
• safely facilitate a classroom
• carry out instructional plans

Daily Sub Rates

Daily Rate- $115 per day (Non-Certified)
Daily Rate- $135 per day (Certified Teachers)
Long Term- Non Certified- $140 per day
Long Term Certified Teachers - $165 per day

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associates Degree or 2 years equivalent college and 3 successful years of work experience.

Bachelor’s degree or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in relevant educational field required. Experience, and/or training in an educational setting preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Permits Preferred (Not Required)

Valid Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in appropriate educational field required for top compensation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of school and state requirements; standardized testing in accordance with and state laws; policies, programs and procedures, basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; analysis of situations to define issues and draw conclusions; age appropriate activities; lesson plan requirements; stages of child development; and behavioral management strategies.

Skill in effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication; carrying out lesson plans and assignments; maintaining order in a classroom setting; administering discipline policies; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

(Long-term Substitute Teachers) Ability to plan and develop course of study suitable for specific grade levels; develop lesson plans incorporating lectures, projects, group discussions and carry out the plans of the school leaders.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $115.00 per day
