Position Title: Substitute Learning Resource Center Technician
Reports To: Director of Learning Resource Center
Position Status: On-call, as needed

Position Description: Assist supervisor in the operation of the Learning Resource Center/Media and assist patrons in the utilization of the Learning Resource Center/Media (on and off-campus locations). Provide light and sound technical support to the Granum Theatre, Park Arena and Besser Technical Center Commons for special events and College productions.

- Compile and develop statistical data, pathfinders, bibliographies and readings lists as directed.
- Operation of computer for interlibrary loan requests, Internet searches, library catalog data entry, CD ROM searches, word processing and other data and clerical searches and data entry.
- Assist library patrons in in searching for information, using library tools and equipment and circulation.
- Plan and supervise the selection, distribution and storage of all Learning Resource Center/Media equipment.
- Assist in the training and supervision of student library aides in their assigned library duties.
- Assist in the ordering, cataloging and processing of library and interlibrary materials.
- Organize and maintain manual and computer filing, sorting, weeding and updating of Learning Resource Center files, shelves, records, etc.
- Instruct faculty on the applications and uses of multimedia instructional and production equipment (includes smart rooms/carts).
- Provide AV services to on and off campus instructional locations, campus student activity groups and ACC affiliates.
- Operate soundboard, light board and other performance systems.
- Adjust lighting fixtures and modify lighting schemes for events, as needed.
- Set-up microphones, podiums and monitors for a variety of events.
- Set-up presentation software.
- Insure that instructors and administrators are provided with equipment operators, if needed.
- Assist in physical moving and relocating of materials, furniture and equipment.
- Stay effective in the operation of new and current library search tools and operations.
- Assure the copy machines in the Center Building are maintained and are operating properly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, in addition to technical equipment such as microphones, sound and lighting boards, speakers, and other performance systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, crouch, talk or hear. This position requires the employee to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. May also require occasional climbing and working from scaffolding or ladders.
