Bridgeway Recovery Services is currently seeking a qualified
Substance Abuse Counselor
to join our Medically Managed Withdrawal Clinic (MMW)
Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm

Bridgeway is a new kind of healthcare organization providing holistic treatment through addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care.
Primary Purpose
The Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for building an alliance with clients by providing education, and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their lives and reducing the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse.
- Provides client-centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed services.
- Use motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active service engagement.
- Conducts assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5.
- Works collaboratively with other providers to ensure services are seamless.
- Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals.
- Facilitates evidenced based groups.
- Conducts individual counseling sessions.
- Types and maintains timely and accurate documentation, including group notes, individual notes, status reports and documenting other contacts made concerning the client.
- Monitors random urinalysis testing.
- Completes monthly status reports for all clients on caseload and facilitates sending them to providers involved with client care.
- Certified Alcohol and Drugs Counselor I or II
- Must at least three years of drug and alcohol addiction counseling experience.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong computer and time management skills are required to work effectively.
- An advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5 is required.
- An intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules is preferred.
- Must be CPR/FA certified or become CPR/FA certified within 6 weeks of employment
- Qualified candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated at employment start date.

Compensation
Will vary, depending on experience and credentials.
An additional stipend is available for Spanish/English bilingual employees.
