Study Abroad Ambassador - Student Assistant

$11.30/hr - $12.30/hr

The purpose of the Study Abroad Ambassador program is to increase the visibility of study abroad opportunities to the Miami University community. Ambassadors will assist study abroad staff with marketing and outreach by: A) Attending recruitment events such as International Education Week, admissions events, classroom visits, fairs B) Organizing Greek life, residence hall and student organization presentations C) Developing print, online, and social media marketing materials

Ambassadors will: A) Communicate regularly with students interested in study abroad
B) Recruit volunteers from Study Abroad alums to help in activities C) Assist the Education Abroad office in preparing and leading Pre-Departure Orientation sessions D) Assist the Study Abroad staff with other special tasks, as assigned

Ambassadors can gain: A) enhanced knowledge of international education B) advising and public communication skills C) a deeper clarity on what you learned from studying abroad and how you can apply it to your future

Minimum Qualifications
Highly self-motivated student who has strong enthusiasm for study abroad.
Comfortable with public speaking and has strong communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Must be in good judicial standing with a GPA 2.75 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications
Semester or longer study abroad experience. Strong interest in promoting and marketing Miami study abroad and Luxembourg programs.
Junior or Senior status.
Knowledge of social media marketing strategies.
Available for a half-day of training on August 27.
