Job Summary:Global Initiatives: Education Abroad Assistant to provide student-facing support for the Education Abroad advising team. The primary purpose of this part-time role is to expand the advising team's capacity to serve our students while providing the Assistant with an in-depth introduction to the field of international education. This is a temporary, part-time (20 hours/week), nine-month position that would be an opportunity to gain more experience in the field of international education.
We are seeking candidates who are capable of providing valuable support for an Education Abroad program that ranks in the top five public universities for the percentage of undergraduate students who study abroad by the time of graduation, and in the top 25 of all U.S. doctoral universities in total number of students who study abroad annually. The Education Abroad Assistant will receive professional mentorship from the Education Abroad staff and will be invited to attend webinars and discussions about important topics and trends in the field of international education. The Education Abroad Assistant will advise students considering study abroad; provide information about study abroad through presentations, tabling, fairs and other outreach events; assist with office events such as pre-departure orientations and re-entry programs; assist in supervising the student ambassador program; assist in the office's equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging efforts; and additional projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Required: Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications:Consideration may be given to candidates with a Graduate degree.
