Job SummaryThe Student Assistant will be working within the Finance Office completing tasks as assigned. The work schedule will be dependent on the student’s class schedule, and at the discretion of the Finance Office. Hours of operation are 8am to 4pm. The Student Assistant will contribute to the overall success of the Finance Office by completing the tasks assigned. This position is defined as a non-exempt position under FLSA regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
· Preparing daily cash receipts
· Assist with document imaging management
· Perform various account reconciliations
· Preform various financial analyses
· Assist with the Accounts Payable functions as needed
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred. The ability to communicate well, both in written and spoken form. The ability to multi-task and flexibility to move from one project to another when the need arises.
Learning ObjectivesBy the end of the academic year, the Student Assistant should be familiar with the daily workings on the Finance Office, be able to perform cash receipt duties (if applicable), be familiar with the various software applications used by the Finance Office and generally be a productive member of the Finance Office team.
LocationOn SU CampusAdditional RequirementsThis position is paid $8.50 per hour, with an estimate of 4 hours weekly.

EducationFirst Year, Sophomore, Junior. Finance and Accounting Majors.
ExperiencePrevious experience is not required, but preferred. General office experience and finance experience is a plus.GPA of 3.0 or higher.Major/Minor in Accounting, Business Administration
