Compensation:
Commensurate with salary range on the DCPS certified salary schedule
Hours Per Day: 7.5 hours
Contracted Days: 205 days
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Hold a valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate
  • Kentucky Administrative Certification

Preferred:
  • Hold a valid Kentucky DPP certification
  • School Administrative Experience

Knowledge Of:
  • Microsoft Office, Google Suites, and web-based systems
  • Record-keeping and data analysis techniques.
  • Communication skills.
  • Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities.
  • Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
The Student Services Coordinator will be responsible for enforcing all board policies and applicable Kentucky Revised Statutes in reference to school attendance in the middle and high schools. The Student Services Coordinator will also coordinate support for PBIS, behavior interventions, and social and emotional learning strategies in the middle and high schools.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enforce the compulsory attendance laws at the middle and high schools.
  • Acquaint the middle and high schools with the home conditions of a habitual truant as described in KRS 159.150(3), and the home with the work and advantages of the school.
  • Ascertain the causes of irregular attendance and truancy, through documented contact with the custodian of the student, and seek the elimination of these causes for middle and high school students.
  • Document the home conditions of the student and the intervention strategies attempted and may, after consultation with the Director of Pupil Personnel, refer the case to the family accountability, intervention, and response team.
  • Secure the enrollment in school of all students who should be enrolled in middle and high school.
  • Keep all enrolled middle and high school students in reasonably regular attendance.
  • Notify FRYSC of middle and high school students who are reported to be in need of books, clothing, or parental care.
  • Provide for the interviewing of students and the parents of those students who drop out of school to determine the reasons for the decision.
  • Collaborate with the District Services Support Coordinator to implement and support PBIS in the middle and high schools.
  • Provide support for middle and high school teams with a focus on initial implementation of PBIS and interventions to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Expand and sustain implementation of PBIS throughout the middle and high schools.
  • Responds and supports middle and high schools as they monitor extreme student behaviors; including the evaluation for additional personnel needs.
  • Coordinate district bullying prevention curriculum and implementation in the middle and high schools.
  • Analyze, validate, and compile middle school and high school behavior and attendance data and write reports based on the analysis of the data. Provide middle school and high school behavior and attendance data analysis to assist administrators in planning and developing the District's and individual schools' goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate middle school and high school intervention scheduling.
  • Conduct meetings with middle school and high school assistant principals and appropriate administrators in regards to attendance, behavior, and other related areas.
  • Provides guidance and support to middle and high schools as they implement PBIS by assisting with readiness activities/plans, identifying training needs, coordinating and facilitating training, working and supporting schools with resources, regular (frequent) school visits, PBIS team meetings and positively promoting school progress.
  • Attends parent meetings for students in Tier 3 as requested by school PBIS Coach or administration.
  • Participates in home visits for Tier 3 students in need with school or district Student Services personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and Superintendent.

Work Environment:
(ex. Indoor, environmentally controlled. Typical office environment including but not limited to telephones, personal interruptions, background noises. May require working with or near the public, parents, and children and will be subject to sounds, scents, and other related environmental factors. This position will require dealing with conflict and requires use of sound judgement.)

Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of certified personnel. The evaluation will be conducted by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
