Scope of Position
The Radiation Oncology Student Intern assists the Radiation Therapy staff to support the evening operations of the Radiation Oncology department. This position works under the supervision of the radiation therapists.
Position Summary
Assists the technical staff, clerical staff, physicians, patients, and visitors within the Department of Radiation Oncology. This consists of transporting patients to and from waiting areas, transporting patients to the ground floor, assisting PCAs with transporting patients to and from inpatient rooms. Student interns will assist radiation therapist turnover and setup the treatment rooms, assist with lifting patients, help with changing patients, scheduling, clerical functions, and inventory control.
Minimum Qualifications
Student must currently be enrolled in college courses. Preferably enrolled in a Radiation Therapy Technology Program. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and medical terminology. Strong technical skills.
