General Description / Primary Purpose:The Student Financial Services Coordinator, under the direction of a Student Financial Services (SFS) Manager Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.
Job Function:This position will be responsible for posting, monitoring, and reporting waivers (BOG and UBOT) as well as assisting other departments with processing and posting waivers. This position will ensure compliance of waivers posted.

Job Function:This position will be responsible for posting all auxiliary charges (such as study abroad, ELP, EPI, child care, TLO, etc.) and coordinating with the various departments who provide the documentation for the charges and posting all other non-tuition charges to student accounts(such as Bookstore, etc.)

Job Function:This position will process all operational task within the SFS unit including but not limited to (stop payments, checks returned, cashiering, scanning, etc.)

Job Function:This position will also post and reconcile payment plans. This position will reconcile and process payments to 3rd party vendors (Follett, Chartwells, etc.)

Job Function:This position will assist with answering, retrieving and returning phone calls and voice messages daily and post the communication in the advising module.

Job Function:This position will have detailed knowledge of SFS Office/ policies and procedures and effectively communicate them to students and staff.

Job Function:This position will assist with the documentations of Controller’s Office/SFS procedures; including updating their specific job duties annually.

Job Function:This position will be a customer service liaison for the Controller’s Office/SFS with parents and students.

Job Function:This position will be responsible to email communication with students that receive waivers (i.e. Vets/GI Bill OOS State waivers) to submit required documents

Marginal Functions:This position will serve as back-up to other positions within Student Financial Services.
A Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; or a high school diploma and four years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Departmental Requirements:High computer literacy to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Comfortable with telephone, copier, calculator, fax, and scanner. Customer service experience preferred. Experience with Higher Education ERP system and Student Financial Service preferred. This position requires Basic English language writing skills for the completion of various paperwork tasks. This position requires the ability to maintain pleasant disposition and positive attitude at all times. This position requires good judgment, a self-motivated team player, and a flexible person who understands balancing customer service to our students with the need for compliance with maintaining effective working relations with Enrollment Services. This position requires analytical skills necessary to understand student accounts. This position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with students, the University community and co-workers.
