Job Title: Office (or Student) Data Analyst
Department: Ageno School of Business
Reports to: Associate Dean Nicole Jackson
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $18.07
Summary: Provide data analysis support to Ageno School of Business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collect, analyze data for Ageno degree programs needed for each degree program’s Program Review report
- Assist in the identification and collection of data that can be analyzed to assess achievement of each degree program's specific student learning outcomes
- Conduct external competitor and market analysis of local, regional, and global programs and needs assessments for employers for Ageno Program Directors and for Ageno’s continuous learning and improvement initiatives.
- Design, collect, and analyze student satisfaction surveys and data to improve quality of Ageno student experiences
- Be able to run focus groups for deeper issue and opportunity identification related to Ageno program improvement and continuous learning initiatives
- Work with key stakeholders in the college including student services, registrar’s office and WASC learning coordinators for ongoing institutional effectiveness
- Candidate must show sensitivity when handling confidential records.
- Candidate must have excellent presentation skills.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
Advanced Knowledge of: Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods and tools including advanced understanding of MS Excel functions, statistical methods and analysis with survey tools such as Qualtrics.
- This position will require understanding, for example, how data are used for Program Review reports include demographic analyses, examination of retention rates of various student populations, growth and enrollment rates as well collection of all CVs for faulty and course evaluation data. It will also require understanding how data are used for learning assessment such as examination exam and quiz scores (sometimes housed in elearning), internship/externship evaluations, scores that faculty assign to papers, presentations and capstone projects using a rubric, etc. This will be in addition to external benchmarking analytics and general student satisfaction metrics and analyses (both program and non-program specific).
Knowledge of: MS word and PowerPoint. Must be able to proficiently use PC with Windows operating system, operate general office equipment, and create and maintain written and electronic systems.
Other: Excellent communication and data presentation skills.
Degree Requirements: BS (or higher) in Data Analytics (or related degree); some experience with marketing research
