Location Armstrong Campus - Savannah, GA Department Information Department of Mathematical Science Job Summary The Student Assistant will support the Department of Mathematical Science as a Math Tutor on the Armstrong Campus beginning Spring 2024.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities Provides instructional Math Tutoring and assistance with basic concepts, specific problems, homework, and test preparation Instructs students in the most effective use of textbooks and instructional materials Provides encouragement and personal support. Works throughout the semester to complete CRLA tutor training certification.
Shift Specifics Up to 20 hours per week Flexible with schedule of availability Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University. Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of Calculus I and II (MATH 1441 and 2242) or equivalent courses with a grade of "B" or better. Pursuing a degree in mathematics or related field.
Proposed Salary $14.00 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
