Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineerto be based in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This position is expected to begin in January 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree focus on Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of civil engineering design principles, CADD, and industry standard computer software for the position  (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and structural modeling).
• Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concepts and principles; experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS) and ArcGIS.
• Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Additional Information

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• Offered rate of compensation (Louisiana locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000/yr.
