Chemical Lab Materials Technician (summer): Performing chemical laboratory and physical tests using instruments such as: X-ray Fluorescence Analyzers, Spectrophotometers, Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA), Rheometer, Colorimeters. The Ideal candidate for this position is pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited institution. Please note this is a summer only position slated to start approximately June 1 and end September 1.
Test Wall Technician (summer): Build test fixtures and install window or door units per defined instructions (ensuring that the installs are plumb, level, square). Perform window & door testing (air, water, structural). Operate power industrial equipment (unit lifts, overhead hoist, walkie riders and fork-lifts). The Ideal candidate for this position is pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Carpentry, Construction, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. Please note this is a summer only position slated to start approximately June 1 and end September 1. Candidate must be local to the MN area as no relocation is available.
Your Role
- Typical summer employment May – September
- Collect the testing data using Excel spreadsheets
- Prepare samples for testing using typical shop equipment (miter saw, bandsaw, drill press, hand tools, etc.)
- Record and organize test results for review
- Follow established procedures to perform testing and/or help develop new procedures
- Support a respectful workplace
- Work effectively in a team managing multiple priorities (direction from engineers to test materials or units in support of their project work)
- Communicate progress on assigned work to achieve required timelines
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment
- Perform other duties as needed as directed by your supervisor
- Follow safe work practices and policies. Help ensure co-workers are working safely and following safety requirements

Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma. College Sophomore-Senior required
- Successfully complete the pre-employment processes
- Ability to work 40 hrs. Monday – Friday (1st shift)
- Work occasional overtime as needed
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel programs)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods
- Ability to read and understand work requests and procedures
- Dependability and punctuality
- Desire to learn skills on the job in a fast-paced environment
- Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year post-secondary technical education program
