Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer in Training (EIT/EI) to support the bridge design team in our Salt Lake City, UT office. The position will focus primarily on assisting with design calculations and plan production on transportation projects. Other job responsibilities include structural site investigations and construction inspection. Essential Job Functions:
- Operate with a high level of independence, confidence and organization in addition to possessing a strong work ethic.
- Effective problem-solving skills and use of fundamental engineering principles.
- Demonstrate an ability to actively engage in a team environment.
- Must be willing and able to travel to project sites, as occasional travel may be necessary
- Perform structural design engineering calculations on bridge components, that include but are not limited to steel girders, prestressed concrete beams, concrete abutments & piers, and retaining, using standard techniques, codes, and procedures with direct guidance from senior engineers.
- Assist with plan production (CAD drawings), geometric layout and quantity development.
- Develop design alternatives or recommendations to provide well thought-out options to our clients.
- Support field investigations or assessments.
- Exercise proficient written and oral communication skills.
Required Skills
- Inspired by and interested in structural bridge design.
- Working knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Office software, and a variety of Structural Engineering analysis and design software.
Required Experience
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited college or university.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- EIT Certification (i.e., passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam) or ability to obtain EIT certificate soon.
- 0-2 years of relevant structural design experience.

Annual Salary Range: $55,000 - $84,000
