Tetra Tech's High Performance Building Division is looking for an enthusiastic designer, looking to grow their skills working in multiple drafting/modeling platforms to develop engineering drawings on a variety of projects across the nation. This position requires the ability to successfully work with and improve company and client drafting standards and procedures in a fast-paced work environment.
Your Contributions will Include:
Providing a full range of drawing production including steel, masonry, concrete and wood framing of building,
foundations, and other structures.
Producing complete plans from verbal descriptions and rough sketches using Revit modeling software.
Coordinating with other disciplines on tasks to minimize rework and maximize efficiency.
Setting up and maintaining drawings throughout the design process.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum associate degree in CAD drafting or related field from a technical trade school.
5+ years of drafting and design experience using latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD.
Experience using Civil 3D to generate profiles, creating, and manipulating surfaces, using pressure pipe
networks.
Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
Must be able to exercise independent judgement and work to achieve generally stated objectives and
requirements.
Must be able to collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems.
Knowledge of industry, engineering standards, mathematics, and materials.
Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to contractual obligations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Tekla Structures is considered a plus.
Preferably uses higher-level commands, time-saving programs and routines.
Experience using advanced AutoCAD functions, including Sheet Set Manager, Xref Manager, Tool Palettes, and
Design Center preferred.
