Job Summary
The Strategic Planning Specialist II conducts high-level Strategic Planning activities throughout the organization. The position assesses healthcare needs, industry and competitive trends, and produces reports and other communications to inform strategic priorities and goals for the organization and our product lines. The position participates in the development of strategic plans and progress reports, and communicates strategic priorities and goals throughout the organization. The position also plans and executes large-scale strategic meetings for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Product Officer.
Duties
Analyze health and industry trends and policy issues to identify strategic issues and/or research that should be conducted by the organization. This includes analyzing qualitative and quantitative data on health issues and managed care.
Develop environmental assessments, including presentations, issue briefs, position papers, or other types of business reports, to identify strategic issues for our products and the organization, and present alternative solutions.
Work with LA Care leadership by participating in developing a multi-year strategic plan, and communicate the progress of these goals on a regular basis.
Plan and execute organization-wide, departmental and/or external meetings to communicate issues of strategic importance.
Provide consultation and technical assistance to L.A. Care management about Strategic Planning, priority-setting, and the organization's strategic priorities and goals.
Develop messaging and support the effort to communicate the organization's strategic priorities and goals internally and externally.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health or Related Field
In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
Education Preferred
Master's Degree in Public Health or Related Field
Experience
Required:
A minimum of 3-5 years of analytic, research, and writing experience in the health, policy, or social service field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health organization or managed care setting; experience with Strategic Planning or operating plan development; experience working with executive level management.
Skills
Required:
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Internet research skills.
Strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficient use of virtual meeting software.
Preferred:
Proficient use of WebEx Meetings/Events.
