Our company is growing, and we are seeking a dynamic team member to establish a brand new role: Strategic Accounting Leader. Our typical client is a small to medium-sized business with 3 to 50 employees, led by an entrepreneur with basic accounting knowledge. A successful candidate will be confident in providing accounting guidance while building a lasting relationship with the client to expand services and revenue opportunities.
The Strategic Accounting Leaderwill be responsible for month-end close and presenting financial statements to the management team as well as performing and/or managing day-to-day accounting duties for multiple clients and employees.
A successful candidate will take ownership for their tasks and special projects while assisting with weekly, monthly and quarterly goals. The Strategic Accounting Leaderwill have experience working in a small company environment with the ability to jump in and help wherever needed and be willing to work with a wide variety of people, requiring adept navigation of different personalities.
This position will play an integral part in Pink's success and will be passionate about delivering quality results to make a positive impact. We are looking for a self-starter and a great communicator that exudes integrity, credibility and commitment while being proactive and a go-getter that will tackle new tasks with little direction.
While this role is remote, candidates must be located in Austin, Texas, or the surrounding area and be available for regular on-site meetings with local clients and team members.
Responsibilities:
- A proven consultant that can quickly assess the situation and plan a strategy to achieve results within tight deadlines.
- Identify opportunities to expand current client business.
- Oversee and assist as needed with performing month-end and year-end close and prepare monthly financial statements and supporting documents for each client.
- Maintain ledgers and reconciliations while ensuring GAAP, legal and regulatory compliance.
- Identify, develop, document and implement policies and procedures to increase efficiencies and reduce month-end close cycle.
- Effectively manage client relationships, addressing and resolving accounting concerns.
- Respond to inquiries and provide support for various operational functions.
- Record, handle, research, and understand transactions effectively.
- Manage new client kick-off meetings, onboard new clients, and set up QuickBooks Online accounts based on client needs.
- Generate ad-hoc reports, analysis, and contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience, including at least 1 year consulting.
- Minimum of 2 years managing a team.
- Expert working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel required.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and how to apply the standards.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and shift priorities to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive team player that is a quick learner and a passion for process improvement.
- Demonstrated project management, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in the day-to-day financial details, and strategically.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence change and tailor communications to specific audiences.
