Job description

The Role:
Whole Foods Market is searching for a Team Leader to hire full time on the Technology Field and Support Services Team. Our team manages the support services delivered to all our locations and it’s team members through vendors. Operational Excellence and Teamwork are the team’s north stars, and we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our Vendor Account Management Office team. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to managing our Technology Vendor relationships. You will lead an experienced team of account managers in ensuring the successful execution of vendor contracts, fostering strong partnerships, and driving value for our organization through effective vendor management practices. Some examples of exciting challenges you will encounter in this role will be formulating innovative solutions that reduce the operating costs without impacting customer service; optimizing support service delivery through suppliers and business partners via process improvements and resources management; Stakeholder engagement and work rationalization exercises to develop long term strategies that are aligned with business objectives and improve break-fix workflows.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Technology Vendor Account managers.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure the team's success.

Vendor Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Technology Vendors.
  • Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular vendor evaluations and business reviews to assess adherence to contract terms and service level agreements.

Vendor Performance and Risk Management:

  • Monitor vendor performance against established key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive measures to address any issues or concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with vendor relationships, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.

Strategic Planning and Reporting:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for Technology Vendor management in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates on vendor performance, contract status, and other relevant metrics to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in Technology Vendor management or procurement, with a demonstrated track record of success in managing vendors and contracts.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Solid understanding of contract management principles and best practices.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Certification in vendor management or procurement (e.g., Certified Technology Procurement Specialist) is a plus.
