We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting/HR Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and HR functions of our company. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain employee records, and provide HR support to our associates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and human resources, possess excellent analytical and organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The Accounting/HR Leader is responsible for the following:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting and fiduciary responsibilities for the company.
- Review the company's general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for corrections.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations by the assigned due date.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations by the assigned due date.
- Resolve reconciling items through research and initiate adjustments as needed by payroll, accounts payable, or general ledger.
- Lead recruiting and training programs for all new and existing associates.
- Maintain all employee records regarding payroll, including PTO and vacation requests, bonuses, overtime, taxes, and other salary modifications.
- Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll payments using payroll software.
- Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets and cash flows, for reporting to senior management.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Conduct new hire and exit interviews, ensuring employees understand their benefits.
- Manage employee verification, unemployment, and disability claims.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, fair employment practices, and government regulations.
- Work closely with the Controller to train managers on organizational policies, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend necessary changes.
- Conduct investigations on employee relations issues as needed.
- Manage employee documentation, including the Employee Handbook and disciplinary communications.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Assist in identifying staff vacancies and recruit, interview, and select applicants.
Requirements for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with HR processes, including payroll and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in using Quickbooks and payroll systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
