This person can live anywhere in the NY or NJ area, but this person needs to reside within the territory.
The function of the Strategic Account Manager is to acquire new customers, manage, and grow existing accounts. The focus of this position will be on accounts determined to be “strategic” in the area of dietary supplements and pharmaceuticals.
Primary Accountability:
- Independently manage pre-determined accounts in assigned territories from introduction/CRM entry to shipping and follow up
- Manage ADM’s electronic Customer Relationship Management system for all customer opportunities
- Coordinate with internal support teams for the management of new opportunities and current orders
- Responsibility for closing sales with new and current customers for orders, adding additional products and line extensions
- Support internal positions in the management of customer pipeline through lead and contact relationship management systems
- Perform outbound sales calls and follow up on/manage newly generated leads within territory
- Own the scheduling and development of sales meetings with accounts in assigned territory
- Participate in management meetings and take responsibility for sales improvement initiatives and other assigned action items
- Set up and deliver sales presentations, product demonstrations and other sales actions
- Occasionally travel and attend sales events, exhibits, and trade shows
Education
- Minimum – Bachelor’s Degree (Sales Career Track or Related)
Experience
- Three + years of experience managing key/large multinational accounts in the area of dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals.
Specific skills
- Exceptional verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Robust Customer Relationship Management systems skills required
- Extremely comfortable with high level computer use in multiple programs, simultaneously
- Strong problem recognition and resolution skills
- Aptitude for working both as team member and individual contributor
- Sales meeting management (scheduling, agendas, actionable item identification, follow up).
- Extremely comfortable leading meetings with customers and internally
- Project and timeline management skills for development and sale of new products
- Professional presentation development and delivery through concise written and visual representations
- Comfortable with technical sales; learning, understanding, and re-iterating complex information
Other Requirements
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
