We are looking for individuals with great attention to detail to join our kitchen team as a Steward Supervisor. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic and tremendous attention to detail, in the care they take in maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel’s kitchen areas.  This role truly is part of the “Heart of the House” and provides key services for culinary and food service teams so they can provide great service to our guests.  This shift will be from 4:00 pm – 12:00 am (hours could vary depending on business needs)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities for the Stewarding Supervisor include but are not limited to:

 

  • Oversee and supervise the day-to-day operation of the Stewarding Department.
  • Consistently monitor performance levels, promoting a cohesive teamwork environment, mentoring, and delegating effectively. Build a better, more efficient, and passionate team through your own passion and skill. Coach to increase productivity through your own work ethic and habits.
  • Assist in all aspects of stewarding department.
  • Be involved in day-to-day discipline.
  • Inspect all equipment for proper maintenance and report deficiencies to Engineering.
  • Attend meetings when necessary.
  • Responsible for the sanitation of all storage areas and equipment. Maintain Ecosure standards per inspections and training manual. Be responsible for and maintain a high level of cleanliness of uniform and hygiene standards. Practice safety standards and report any unsafe conditions to the Executive Chef.
  • Making sure all requisitions are accurate and completed on time for both the FOH and BOH
  • Follow posted schedule, be aware of teammates schedule – communicate tardiness and call outs to executive chef.
  • Help guide the team throughout the day-to-day operations.
  • Monitoring how and where things are put away. Proper maintenance of cast iron and wooden boards
  • If something needs to be fixed – email engineering and send email out to culinary and stewarding chefs, leads, supervisors.
  • Monitor loading dock dumpster, notify purchaser and Executive Chef when needed to be picked up.
  • Be responsible for and maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization at all times.
  • Proper use of personnel protection equipment
  • Oversee the counting of BIG 4
  • Chemical Ordering with Purchaser
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen towels in office
  • Follow departments cleaning, opening, and closing checklists etc. Daily, Weekly and Monthly cleaning projects
  • Aware and knowledgeable of SDS Book
  • Making sure the floor is being cleaned according to SOP.
  • Making sure dish machine is maintained according to SOP.
  • Ice Machine Maintenance and tracking

QUALIFICATIONS

 

In addition to performance of key responsibilities and supportive functions, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

  • Ability to effectively lead and work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs + on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Superior time management and task prioritization.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.

 


The compensation for this position is $15.50/Hr. - $17.25/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
